If you have any problems with any photos and information that I have submitted, please contact me and I'll try to update, remove them, or correct them. My goal is to help.

I'm getting old so please be nice and give me time. Also, family health problems have been keeping me busy, but I still try to do what I can.

I think this is a great site. You can learn about your own family and relatives, where the famous are buried, learn about important figures in history, and help others learn about their relatives and other people. It is also a way to help preserve history.

I may have mistakes, if I do please help me fix them. Sometimes I only have basic information, if so, that's because that's all I found at the time. Accuracy and informing others of the history of the person is important to me. Below are my feelings on things like taking photos, obituaries, and transfers.

==================================================

My Photo Requests: Some are of family/relatives, some are to honor police, fire, military types, and some are simply old. The old ones are ones I've found burial records but have not seen in person and proof helps confirm them and it helps preserve history. Photos can also help clear up any mistakes.

==================================================

Photos: I still have many I have taken but not recorded.

I am currently trying to fix some of the problems, give me some time please. "Transcribe Beta" has improved but there may be some errors yet from when it was newer.

I've added photos by "Transcribe Beta" so if there are too many pictures on a memorial and would like to add one, please let me know. Using the Transcribe option I can't see the pictures already on there.

"Transcribe beta" had been showing me the same file two or three times. If I do have two pictures that are similar on the same memorial please kindly alert me and I will remove one. Rude or vague remarks will be ignored. Please don't tell me to remove all my photos, or to stop putting on photos all together.

I do not clean any markers. I believe that's up to the family of the person. Some cleaners may damage markers and one of my goals is to preserve history.

I also think this can be used as a tool for family members to see what condition the marker is in over the years.

Lately I've been letting others transcribe photos for me with "Transcribe Beta". So Thank you to those helping out.

Some people have been offended by a second picture being added to a memorial. I am sorry for this, this is not my intent. Lately "Transcribe Beta" adds another photo even if there is one already on there. I'm just trying to help.

Why are some of my photos at odd angles? R.I.P. I try to not disturb things.

==================================================

Obituaries: I prefer not to use them. Those on memorials I manage were already placed there by the creator of the memorial. I prefer stories/bios.

==================================================

Transfers (out going): I will be happy to transfer any memorial I am not related to the person to someone that is related to the person. I believe family is more important than simply collecting memorials. I've seen some people say unless it is a very close relative such as a parent I will not transfer them. To me that seems more like collecting memorials and less about family and accuracy. A family member knows more about the person than a stranger does. I understand there is work involved to create a memorial. However, once transferred it still states who the creator was, they still get credit. I also understand there is a system for edits. However, often it seems like if you ask someone to change a bio for a person it gets ignored. So considering this, if you are related to a person don't worry at all about asking for a transfer from me. Unless I am closely related I will unite you with your family member. I ask you to please pass on memorials or give them back rather than deleting them if you quit for any reason or get tired of FindAGrave, please.

==================================================

My Attitude: (This statement is not directed at any person, but merely the general attitude I plan on using). My opinion is that FindAGrave members take care of the memorials, they should not think they "own" them. These are memorials to PEOPLE after all. All I ask is for people to respect the memorials for this reason. Having respect for the memorials reflects respect for the people they honor.

I enjoy honoring those who have lived before me. Learning and helping others learn about relatives is important to me. As far as those I'm not related to, I also enjoy reading the stories of others that once lived. Often it seems like you can learn more about history through the lives of everyday people than you can in history books. History books tend to only key in on a few people and sometimes ignore "common people."

I key in on mostly Midwest people. Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Minnesota, Kansas, Wisconsin.

I've been learning a lot about the history of Rockland Co. New York. There's always something new to learn no matter how much you know.

I'm starting to feel that some of the burials without markers any more due to age or destruction of another kind are VERY important to record. They should not be forgotten. Civil War vets. that I find records of I try to request photos to find out if there is still a marker and I believe they should be honored.

I try to follow the guidelines as much as possible but I do believe family is very important.

In the end I believe it's about the people that were once alive.

In life there is always something new to learn.

Thank you.

A VERY big THANK YOU to all those who have transferred my relatives to me.
