From Dyersburg, Tennessee,born Fowlkes, TN 4 miles south of Dyerssburg. Crocker family moved to Dyer county about 1905 from Idlewild area in Gibon County, Tennesee. Crockers had been in Gibson County since 1830 on a farm bought in 1845 by Mari & Martha Crocker.

I have been doing genealogy since the Alex Haley book Roots was published, thought I could not find information. I was looking at the 1880 census a few months later when I came across 2 year old "Freddy Crocker" who was my granddaddy who I knew as an old man. I was hooked!

I have found an error I would like to fix.
