My parents are the late Albert Lane and Armatha (Whitton) Lane, both natives of San Augustine County, Tx, and longtime residents of Pineland, Sabine County, Tx. I am a former newspaper editor and currently am a licensed funeral director in Texas, working with Cason Monk-Metcalf in Nacogdoches, Tx. My wife is the former Martha DuBose Lane, member of pioneer East Texas families as well (DuBose and Tatom). I am also a bivocational Baptist minister living in Sabine County, Tx. Family and regional history has always been very important to me.
