I praise the Lord each day when I get up to greet the new challenges ahead of me. I am a retired Army Officer who grew up in Port Hueneme, California. After graduating from UC Santa Barbara I went on Active Duty in the Army for what I thought was going to be a short stint to show my Dad I could "cut it" in the military if I wanted to. This led to bunch of military moves about every two years for my family who paid a heavy price while my career advanced. My lovely bride Maria and I have three grown adult daughters with their own family situations going on. I continue to work for the Army as a Civilian at Falls Church, Virginia, with plans to retire in a couple more years. I am an Eagle Scout and have been a volunteer leader for years trying to give back as I got a lot out of Scouting. I am proud Papa to five grandsons:) I am known as the "family geneologist" but I still feel as if I have much more to learn. I am thankful to my parents that before they went to be with the Lord they each gave Ancestry DNA samples.
