Bio

I am a Florida native, of Italian, Swedish and English decent. I know more about my Italian family and have visited the town where my Grandmother was born, Castel di Sangro, in Abruzzo. I still have living relatives there.

I am married to Carlos A. Archilla and have two step children, Gabriella and Nicolas. Carlos and I were married on September 4, 2016 in Paris, France at the American Cathedral by Bishop Gene Robinson (the first openly gay priest installed as a Bishop in all Christendom and the Episcopal Church. His ordination nearly created a schism in the Church.

Additonally:

-Founded Out & Proud Veterans of America
-Erected and dedicated the first memorial for LGBTQ Veterans in Florida and the third in the United States in Orlando, January 21, 2011. It is located at the GLBT Community Center, Mills Avenue, Orlando
-Served on the board of directors for:
GLBT Community Center
Aspire Health Partners
The Pride Chamber
Come Out With Pride
My story has been read into the official record of the United States Congress in recognition of my positive impact on society and the United States.
