I am the descendant of Lutheran ministers in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Baptist farmers east of Kansas City Missouri, Catholic farmers near Chicago, and Danish Mormon handcart pioneers. My brother Greg happens to be in the high school textbooks under Black History - as a Boston Celtic he is guarding Kareem Abdul Jabbar. You may notice that Greg is "a lighter shade of brown". Greg also played for the Charlotte Hornets in its first year, 1988-89, in the NBA. Chris and Greg view themselves as part of Martin Luther King's dream that the descendants of slave owners and slaves would come and work together as friends.
