Bio

Pendleton County was the place where nearly all my ancestors settled. The beautiful Mountains that reminded immigrant ancestors of their homes in Germany and Switzerland became their homes in the United States. When my Great Aunt Mary and my Aunt Tena tried to join DAR, they were unable to document a single line. I took up the challenge and since then I have over 22 ancestors that are classified as patriots for the Revolutionary War. My family lines include Bodkin, Caldwell, Conrad, Dahmer, Dice, Dunkle, Eye, Fleisher, Friend, Harman, Harper, Hartman, Hevener, Hedrick, Hinkle, Hollen, Judy, Lawrence, McLaughlin, Miller, Nagli, Phares, Propst, Roleman, Simmons, Sinnett, Skidmore, Teter, Wimer, Vint Wamsley, Zorn. I continue to expand lines and try to jump to Europe through Ancestry. I taught school for 40 years and while I have done genealogy research for years, I have really cut loose since I retired. I hope to help findagrave contributors to expand their memorials to include parents, siblings, children and bios where I can. I continue to be happy hunting for my roots!
