Bio

I have been researching my family history for well over 20 years.. and have completed a Diploma in Family History through the University of Tasmania.

With the memorials on FAG - I have a few local cemeteries that I take photos of and upload to the website. This is my way of contributing back to the genealogical community - most of us are volunteers!
I try my best to take really clear photos - by removing debris or plants, etc - as I really appreciate people's efforts in providing clear photos when I search for graves of my own family. I also try to link family members with each other, report duplicate memorials, and include the inscriptions where I can.
I take hundreds of photos save them and upload them to FAG when I have some time or when a request is sent. There are times when I have come across a photo already added to a memorial - if I don't believe the existing photo is very clear I will add a clearer one - no disrespect to other volunteers - I know I appreciate when someone has taken a clear photo of a grave that I have requested. I will also create memorials if I am certain that there is no memorial recorded for that person - I am happy to transfer memorial management over to family members -so please don't hesitate to ask.
With my family history research, I have 4 + convicts in the family tree... which in most cases make an interesting story. There are always a couple of brickwalls where details can be a bit sketchy and are a challenge to find the right connections..but that is what makes genealogy interesting!!
Some of the surnames in my family are:
Sanson
Inglis
Grant
Butcher
Taylor
Bowman
Bradley
Hodges
Wark
Hancock
and many others :)
I am always happy to help others where I can..

Cheers Trish
