After our son Todd died in 2012 my husband Keith and I began cleaning, maintanence, and landscaping, around our other family members graves whenever we would do so for our son. "What joy and triumph, after all, to be sincerely honored by the ones we loved." We weren't the kind of people who hung out in cemeteries even to visit loved ones. That all changed when our son died. Taking care of our sons resting place has become part of the healing process and way inwhich we honor his memory. We found peace there. Word of mouth got around of the nice restoration we do that we decided to let people pay us to do their loved ones too. I, Melissa have dabbled in genealogy a bit before my son died, but not so much since. I added the Findagrave app to my phone to help locate graves for cleaning and the family tree interest. Today on my way out of the cemetery where my son is laid to rest I decided to check the list of names of photo request there. I found one and ended up providing photos of stones for a whole family. Turns out the original person I found was first married to an ancestor of mine. I'm hooked.
