I am a member of Ancestry.com. I have been doing research on my relatives/ancestors for 3 years almost daily. I am from SW VA, Giles, Grayson, Smyth, Washington, Wythe, Botetourt, Montgomery and Craig counties mostly and live in Botetourt now. My ancestors came from Western Europe, Germany, France, Ireland, Scottland and Wales. They arrived mostly in PA., MD., and followed the Shenandoah Valley into Virginia & some on to NC. They were farmers, carpenters, Blacksmiths and ministers. They came early to America, a great many came in the early 1600's. I have no American Native DNA although it was all around during these early years. I have on African, Portuguese, or Spanish DNA. Seems I am as white as the driven snow. My desire is to share what I know about my fore-fathers & mothers.
