GEDMatch # LB2791402I appreciate the honest volunteers of genealogy websites, and those who have posted to the internet the beautiful constellation of my family. My paternal 3rd great-grandparents are Abraham and Anna (Morningstar) Graft, a farming family of northern Indiana, and I am truly grateful to honor their memories by managing their sites, as well as the pages of my paternal grandparents, Maine and Agnes (Johann) Graft; and the sites of my paternal great-grandparents, Charles and Mildred (Wright) Graft Schmaltzried.I began internet genealogy to take a virtual visit to the Catholic Cemetery of Fort Wayne, Indiana. It is my father and his mother's family's American ancestral resting place. As I began to research our family tree online, I was met with a distressing discovery: large pieces of missing/mistranscribed and junk data had been dumped onto records that traced paths between my family members. There was no logical explanation for the transcription and data errors since my family history is (though enthralling to me personally) nothing out of the ordinary for a Hoosier family at that time. The elusive records were not indicative of a family of servicemen and bookkeepers.I have been correcting the erroneous information on the internet about my father's family tree.Memorials are a sign that a person was once alive, and by distorting his relationships, there was a gap created suggesting that he was never alive, and had never died. I later found out that this was in fact the objective. There had been a metaphorical attempt to bury my father a second time--this time it would be the evidence of his life that would be buried.I am truly grateful to those honest genealogists and historians for their sincere endeavors. I hope their time spent among the historical records of the departed has given them as much happiness as their efforts have given me.Charlotte Graft1st cousin to the real Sharon Lee (Holsworth) Fisher*GEDMatch LB2791402***I have been catphished extensively by an individual claiming to be my cousin, Sharon Fisher, as well as others claiming to be long-lost cousins.**Help law enforcement: Upload atDNA results to GEDMatch.
