Bio

My name is Jim Scanlon. I only work on family memorials. I worked for several years with my cousin Valerie Hunter to collect our family history. When working on Ancestry .com I often obtained records from Find-a- Grave. I began looking at these records as not just individual memorials, but as a network of a family line. Most family members don't have the money or time to research the family tree.
Find-a Grave provides a free and easy way for families to find their roots
I have found many family memorials with no information or connection. I have tried to connect as many family memorials that I can find and link them together. I also try to post any photographs and documents that I have collected to give the family information about their ancestors. Find-a - Grave gives a small amount of space for such items, and anyone can post pictures etc. Indiana is fortunately one of the few states that opened all of their country record books , photographed them, and made them available to the public for free.
I follow the family lines of my maternal grandparents who were Irene Risser and Jesse Stoner, and paternal grandparents who were Bertella Hinds and James Michael Scanlon. I also include my step-grandfather Claude O. kehl who was my grandfather all of my life.
