Bio

I was born and raised in western Nebraska on a small wheat and cattle farm. My mom was interested in genealogy and did so much work back before computers. She worked on at least one (maybe two) of the U.S. decennial censuses as an enumerator.

I have inherited her interest in genealogy and worked as an enumerator during the 2020 U.S. decennial census (during the midst of the covid pandemic and the during peak Phoenix summer heat.)

You are welcome to use the photos I post. I hope you enjoy them.

My "thing" is to photograph and GPS entire cemeteries. I started with Guadalupe Cemetery in Tempe, AZ and went from 700 memorials to over 2,200 memorials (and from 1% with GPS to 97% with GPS). More recently was Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. I started with about 16,000 memorials, 40% photographed and 18% with GPS. When I finished after about a year there were about 16,300 memorials (I had merged several hundred duplicates) 94% photographed and 94% with GPS.

Most recently I photographed Greenwood Cemetery in my hometown of Sidney, Nebraska. There are about 7,700 memorials and currently it is 93% photographed and 92% have GPS coordinates.

As of today I have uploaded about 70,000 photos to Find a Grave.
