I was raised to remember the dead by talking about them once they had passed. In travels I found headstones fascinating and our dad -- ever the school teacher -- would challenge us to do the math (quickly!) and report the deceased persons' age. I find the rituals of public mourning seem to be slipping away among many ....so cover the mirrors, hang a wreath on a door, wear a black arm band....
