Bio

I started this journey back in 2001. My father, Don C. Farrar, wanted me to find his maternal grandfather, William T. Brooks. With a husband in the USAF, we had to move around often. Once we settled down my kids were all in school and my dad got sick. Dad passed away in 2009 and I would never get the chance to tell him all I have discovered about our family.
April 2023 I find my great grandfather William Thomas Brooks. He was living in Knoxville, TN and passed away 31 Jan 1975. All the times we drove through Knoxville while traveling from Indiana to North Carolina from 1973-1975 I could have met him. At least he is found and I now have more Great uncles/ Aunts, and cousin I didn't know about.
I did verify (my brother tested with the Big Y at FTDNA) we are the Farrar's of Farrar's Island and my 9th GG William Farrar came to Virginia from England on the Neptune two years before the Mayflower. He escaped the Jamestown massacre and the diseases on the Neptune so I suppose I am lucky to be here.
My 6th GG was George Farrar and he married Judith Jefferson, the aunt to President Thomas Jefferson. My dad would have loved hearing all these stories.
