Hi My name is Joni and I'm a "History Geek"! I live in the beautiful hills of West Virginia with my Husband who also shares my love of history, genealogy and anything "old." I have a BA in History and caught the genealogy bug at a very young age. I've interned with the National Park Service at Fort Necessity National Battlefield and Friendship Hill National Park. My historical interests include preservation of early American and other pre-1940's historic places, including old cemeteries/grave sites/ small family cemeteries; local history and folk lore, documenting oral and family histories and last but certainly not least, genealogy. I am also an avid amateur photographer and love photographing old barns, homesteads, cemeteries, etc. I have been researching my family (maternal and paternal) for over 25 years with the assistance of my Gram who passed on in 2005. She left me her legacy to continue and her mounds of primary research on the Liston family to sift through. My Gram, Lois Jane Breakiron Liston, finished and published Breakiron family history in 1998(?). I am currently working on not only my family histories but also my husbands' family tree. If anyone needs gravestone or cemetery pictures in my area, or genealogy information, please contact me and I'll see what I can do. God Bless!
