Bio

I am our family's historian and became interested in Find a Grave when reading old letters that my grandmother wrote to the US War Dept where she begged whoever was reading the letter to please provide a photo of her son's grave. My mother's brother was a WWII pilot and he was shot down while dropping supplies to our troops in the China Burma India theatre. He was first buried next to the crash site and then moved a couple times as the burial sites were taken over by the enemy army. I can only imagine her sitting, crying at her Iowa kitchen table in the middle of the night grieving the loss of her first born. Desperate to know where he was. It took almost 4 years to finally bring him home and she was ultimately laid to rest next to him in the family plot.

So if me taking even one photo helps a family, then I feel I am honoring her memory.

When taking volunteer photos we try to mark each stone's actual GPS location so family can walk into even the largest cemetery and find their loved ones more easily.

God bless to all and it's been our honor to visit your kin on your behalf!

Rest In Peace to my Grandmother and now to my Mom too!

Much love!
