Hello,

I am researching the family history of Paul (#78279282) and Sarah (Martin) Vemer. Paul immigrated from Austria in 1853 and settled in Boone County Missouri in 1854 when he marries Sarah Martin. They had five children, Mary Alice, Hulda Francis (Fannie), William Robert, George Isom, and Laura.

My wife (a Boone County Vemer) and I were lucky to inherit many of the family photographs. Quite a few of these photographs are photographs which had names written on them but some didn't. I'm trying to find the names for all the photographs.

With the help of many family members, we now have photos of all of Paul and Sarah's children, most of their grand children and many great grand children. We are hoping to find more, especially photos of George Isom Vemer's line of family. Photos become divided over time and usually never shared.

I am trying to change this by creating a website for family members which has all the information I've found so far. There are also all the photographs I have located which have been restored and archived for future generations. Here are some of the family names included in the research: Vemer, Griggs, Baumgartner, Selby, Ballew, McCray, Price and Ward.

If you are familiar with the Millersburg area and Cedar Creek, you will recognize many of these family names. All these families grew up in this area and their histories are linked together. If you have any information or photos relative to the names mentioned above, please contact me. As you know, sometimes there might only be one photo of a person that someone has which many relatives would love to see.

Thank you,

Tim

Note: We have two photographs taken in 1857. Both are in a case with one being a tintype and the other ambrotype. There are three possible men they could be Paul Vemer, James H Selby, or James C McCray. I'm fairly sure that one of them is Paul Vemer. There are similarities to the crayon portrait image you see of Paul on the web but finding another photo of Paul would be nice. I'm hoping someone has a photo of either James Selby or McCray to identify the other. All three photos are in great shape now.
