Bio

I am building my Family Tree, with over 8,300 people to date. Mostly I have their full dates, places and families. Found some hidden gems. My Family covers much of Scotland and can trace back to 1500/1600s for most lines. I am interested in where my Family came from, their residences and occupations. Finding their headstones, if they had one, can fill in some gaps. However I've found using the 1841-1911 censuses very helpful, with parents, nieces/nephews, cousins, in-laws, grandchildren and siblings often living together or visiting. Some family even worked for other lines of family which added valuable information. Have now visited the General Registry Office in Edinburgh and the Central Library, it's going to take a few visits.
I am happy to share what I have with any who think we may be connected.

Fife: Wilson, Ness, Cuningham, Adamson, Stewart, Renton,
(Wilson's came to the Lothians)

Dundee/Perthshire/Angus: Dewar, McKenzie, Gloag, Murrie, Knight, Yeoman/Yeaman.
(Dewars' settled in Pollok, Glasgow)

Glasgow: Dewar, Kay, Smellie
(Kay's moved to Leith then East Lothian)

Lanarkshire/Renfrewshire: Fell, Johnston, Sharp, McDiarmid, Ramage, Cochran, Haddow, Hodson, Forest, Scott, Anderson, Bell, Robb, White, Torrance,

Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire: Bruce, Fyvie, Mutch, Crichton/Crighton, Norie, Brebner, Scroggie, Elrick, Strachan, Gibb, Smith, Chalmers, Webster, Anderson, Brown, Conon, McKrobie,

Moray/Ross & Cromarty: McLennan
(McLennan's settled Dalry, Edinburgh)

Edinburgh: Moir, Kay, McLennan, Wilson,

East Lothian: Dickson, Scott, Blair, Golightly, Clark

Been able to trace many lines to England, Canada, USA, Australia, but still much to find out.
