I started researching my family tree in 2003, just assuming that Mum's family were all from West Lancashire and Dad's were all from London. How wrong can you be. 15 years later, after a few false starts and a lot of help from strangers near and far I am still making discoveries and still finding (and correcting) the odd mistake from those early years.
