I mainly do family and friends in and around Swain County NC including the Cherokee Indian Reservation. My "white" ancestors moved into what is now Swain County in the 1840's. Of course my Cherokee ancestors were here before that. My grandparents were all born and lived their entire lives here and are all buried here as well as most of my great grand parents going back 5 generations "white" and Cherokee. As well as my wife's family. Thus I am most interested in this area of research. I enjoy doing as much info for each person I knew or am related to that I can. Relations, obits pictures etc.
One unanswered question, would love help with, is Lyda Woodruff. She is buried in our family graveyard. Story is: a family passing thru in winter of 1903-1904 lost this precious three week old. Her tombstone is all the info I have found. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.
