Bio

New to Find-A-Grave in 2017 but not new to Geneology. I thank all who have contributed to this resource and who work to update and validate all of the connections and records.

I was raised on stories of my Irish-American ancestors, yet as many of us discover our family history is more nuanced and complex than it may seem at first. My father began the family geneology as a hobby in the dark days of snail mail and kindly librarians and county clerks, in other words the 1970's. His goal was to "take us to the boat", which he did fairly well, tracing things on the paternal grandparents' (Irish) side to the early-mid 1800's, and on the Maternal grandparent's (mostly English-Colonial) side back to the 1600's. My grandmothers' ancestors missed the Mayflower, but not by much.

My father continued and refreshed his research with the advent of the internet and databases, and since his passing I've continued it slowly and fitfully. Now I'm going back and re-documenting what he had already done, seeing images of the records he'd gotten penciled abstracts of.

Here my goal is to flesh out the information available based on what I can document, linking people where possible, adding notes, etc.
