Bio

My grandparents Thibault are buried under a headstone bearing the misspelled name Thibeault. As a genealogist, I feel called to address this error for future genealogists! And as a reminder to all that what is written in stone may not be actual fact. One hopes it is more often than not, but..

I became the family historian upon the death of my mother, from whom I inherited all manner of papers and photos that came down from both of her parents. This represents the bulk of my family history collection and includes the Laflammes and Desilets.

When my father passed away, I mostly inherited photos from his life, but very little further back. He himself seemed unaware of his extensive family, despite the fact that most of his aunts, uncles, and cousins surrounded him in his small hometown of Greenville, New Hampshire. In recent years, I've been happy to dig into the family tree on the Thibault side and explore the legacy of my great-grandparents Elie and Azilda Dube Thibault. From their parentage, I have many cousins Alix, Bourgault, Jean, Maki, Paradis, and Vaillancourt, for starters.

I'm just starting out on FindAGrave but have been taking photos of family graves for years. I am now trying to organize them and preserve them for future generations.

Respectfully,
Sara
