Bio

A 50-something ensconced in the Pacific Northwest. Never married and no kids, but I ended up being the family historian somehow starting in the late 80's. Although I subscribed to Ancestry.com and used Family Ties--I was never a fan of sites that you contribute information and then they paywall others to get to it. So, that's why I'm a fan of Find A Grave in particular and think its been a more solid platform as most of the time people enter data based on actual physical headstones or solid data. I've used it to tour many 5-7th generation cemeteries around the US and become a great little hobby.

Biggest discovery was a family story about a ancestor that was a Confederate and supposedly captured during the Battle of Vicksburg, but I found out he was never there...and was actually a deserter and sent to prison instead.
