I have come to greatly appreciate and respect Find a Grave. It's a tool that I regularly use in my family research to memorialize, reconnect, and honor people and their stories that were lost and/or forgotten. Many times those I reconnect are my family, or related in some way. However, if I come across anyone who has become lost and forgotten, I will do my best to reconnect them to their own families and memorialize them biographically.
