Bio

Hello,
I live in British Columbia and have been researching my family branches for over 15 years. I love this site for remembering those who have passed, providing a way for far flung family to "visit" and learn a little about their near and distant relatives and the great co-operative effort of contributors. I thank those (particularly Alison) who have helped me learn the ropes and been very gracious and collegial.

My Procedures / Requests / Permissions Re: Photos, Edits and Transfers are as Follows:

Photos and Their Use:
You may use Grave Marker photos that I have contributed (that have my Contributor name attached) for your own research use. If you have a better quality grave marker photo for one that is on a Memorial I manage I would be happy for you to post it and I would then delete mine (send me a message please).

For All Other Photos and Images (maps, etc.), Please Contact Me First for permission / citation possibilities.

Please do not post records, newspaper articles and other copyrighted material as photos to the memorials I manage (as per Find a Grave guidelines). I would welcome summaries of these to be added to bios, with credit to the contributor and their source(s).

Edits, Transfer Requests and Messages:
Please use Suggest an Edit to send an edit request. I'll ask for sources if required. Preferably Sources should be Primary Records (like vital stats) or close personal knowledge. Sometimes a collection of other sources (census, obituaries and more) can be sufficient support for a correction.

If you would like a Transfer of a Memorial of a close relative for your management please let me know by using the Suggest Edits button followed by Suggest Other Edits button (Include the Memorial Id and your Contributor Id). I will follow Find A Grave Transfer Guidelines and am also flexible (please ask!). I have received transfers of close relatives and connections that I have significant updates / biography notes to add and the manager does not have time to do it. Sometimes I request, and sometimes they are offered (we're flexible and collegial!) or transferred without asking. I've also received transfers from people who have asked me if I would take on future maintenance of their memorials.

If you are new to the site (or haven't read yet), Find A Grave's FAQ section is very useful (use the Help button at the bottom). Also, I highly recommend reading a Contributor's Profile before sending Edit or Transfer requests or Messages to see if they have specific hints or procedures and guidelines that they follow. These profiles are engaging, uplifting and helpful in general.

I'm related to or connected to many of the Memorials I've created or manage. I add unrelated ones as time allows. Please feel free to contact me about any of these Memorials. Enjoy the site!
