I'm interested in the genealogy of the Mohawk Valley area of Upstate NY. My husband's ancestor was Jacob Small who came from Germany and was a Captain in the Tryon County Militia. Oak Hill Cemetery in Herkimer contains many of his descendants, every Small in this particular cemetery is descended from him as are some of the Chrismans and Eysamans.

Friends, William and Evelyn Arthur, started to straighten out the records of this cemetery in the 1990's and then passed the project to me. I'm trying to make the records as complete as I can and adding records for those without headstones as well as keeping up with new burials. I am indebted to them for all their work which included recording the information on every gravestone throughout the cemetery, some of which are now missing or too worn to read.

I will gladly transfer almost any of the entries that I manage. I took over management of them just so I could update them myself.
