Bio

Kiwi born but half Aussie and have lived in Australia for most of my life. I have links to England, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Germany ...... so far.

I am currently aiming to take the photographs of all the headstones in my local cemeteries and put them against names on this website. I am particularly working on the old cemeteries and the old headstones before the monuments fall, the sandstone wears out completely or the lichen etches into the names. I only edit details on the website of the names in the photographs if I have seen the dates and inscriptions while at the cemetery and usually check them against the local burial registers and newspapers announcements. Therefore I am happy to be corrected if I make errors.

I remind all that the dates on the NSW BDM Registry on-line are the "registration" dates, not necessarily the "event" dates. I have found some with very wide differences as the families just did not get around to registering an event at the current time. This can be particularly so pre-1900.

When we travel around the countryside we endeavour to take specific requests and other interesting memorials in local cemeteries. This means that sometimes there are memorials under my name that I am happy to transfer to family members to edit and manage . Just ask.

Also I do not wish to offend family members so if, after photographing a headstone, I have created a memorial for one of your family members and you do not wish it to be on FAG, please contact me about the possible removal of the memorial.

If you wish to use a photo I have taken, please do so. I ask that no modifications other than resizing be applied. If you are going to publish it, please just acknowledge your sources.
