Bio

I live in Tucson, AZ, in the winter and and Duluth, MN, in the summer. I'm originally from Green Isle, MN, with family background in all of Sibley Co including Jessenland, Washington Lake, Assumption, Faxon, Henderson and Arlington.

Irish surnames include: Tracy, Waldron, Morran, Flinn, Bailey, McCarthy, Dulehery, Flaherty, McGuire, Finley, McNully, Mangan and Welch. This includes counties Galway, Clare, Kerry, Cork, Tyrone, Monaghan and Roscommon. My German/Luxembourg surnames include: Simmer, Hames, Hilger, Guidinger, Ewert, Poetz.

I think Find A Grave is the best first resource for all genealogy efforts and really appreciate the vast information here. My best Find A Grave story is that someone found me here through my great grandfather's memorial page, where I had posted some photos of him. This person had just bought an old pocket watch at a California estate sale, one that had my great grandpa's name on it because he had made it. They contacted me, letting me know they found the watch with some photos of it. They let me buy it from them for a very low price and it now happily sits in a display case in my home. I'm so happy to have it.

I do enjoy cemeteries, usually small ones best, especially those in Sibley Co, Minn; and those in rural Ireland. However, my favorite cemetery is probably Père-Lachaise Cemetery in Paris - what an experience that was!

I've followed in my family footsteps and I'm also an abstract painter and nature photographer.
