Bio

I am an experienced Genealogist and a volunteer facilitating a community project in All Saints' (Birchington) Churchyard, Thanet in Kent, UK where volunteers tend graves mainly those associated with military service, though more recently we have been allowed to extend the focus to the whole of the churchyard.
We use the 1979/80 Memorial Inscriptions (available for purchase on disk via the Kent Family History Society) to locate a grave and therefore I am giving that reference as the grave location, as it is the only universal publically available system for the Churchyard until GPS co-ordinates can be added.
I am researching all those people that are part of our project and putting their biographies in full or part onto Findagrave so they are publically available. If a piece of information on a posted grave you are genuinely interested in doesn't have a source attached, please contact me. As some Findagrave Managers insist on the source being known, I will now be doing this for all future entries (from 12 Nov 2021).
I am an experienced copy editor and proofreader, but it is always hard to proofread your own work. I am grateful to those who point out (with politeness) any typographical errors.
I am happy to supply photographs of graves in the churchyard for people when I can. Please be patient.
I am also extending our Findagrave contributions to include local history research about villagers buried in the churchyard, to make their stories more publically available for those unable to visit the Birchington Museum records.
If you are local to Birchington and want to join the project, please contact me.
