Like many others, I discovered Find A Grave while researching my own family history. I'm a happy retiree in Columbia SC. I do some photo work, but my abysmal lack of "tech savvy" means I focus mainly on data entry. My roots (and my heart - you KNOW what I mean) are in Ohio's Scioto and Jackson counties. I visit that area far more often than I should. I am primarily interested in the descendants of Ephraim Jackson in the area.

My minimal computer skills ensure I will likely remain a novice for the "duration", but I strive to make myself a useful member of the community. Please pardon my technical errors, and feel free to point out my mistakes - COURTEOUSLY, please...you're not the boss o' me! :-)

27 years USN experience; I'm pretty good at deciphering military jargon, ranks, etc. I'm VERY good at USMC research (8 service records to date). If I can assist, give a shout.

Due to the efforts of other Find a Grave members, I've located the graves of about twelve family and friends, and I've "met" my grandfather for the first time. Thanks, all.
