Born in the UK, and now live in Vancouver BC. My grandfather served in the Bedrordshire Regiment of the British Army, a late recruit as he had two young sons. He died of his wounds near Ypres on 8 November 1917, and my father was born five weeks later. He missed having a father very much. My adopted home, Canada, has a very sound record of commitment in two world wars, of which it is very proud.
