Bio

Our Horton family descended from Drayton (Ann) Horton of London, England, to Robert (Jaley ) Horton of Culpeper County, VA, to their son Robert (Mary) Horton (VA to OH to his being buried in Grant County, IN), to the son William Slaughter Culpeper Horton (Maria Jane) who settled in Montgomery County IA, to their son William Slaughter Culpeper (II) (Mary) who remained in Montgomery County, IA, to my grandfather Felix M Horton (Hazel), to my dad William F Horton (Dorothy), to me, Randy Taylor Horton. My dad, William F Horton, was a true "old school" genealogist. He and mom drove thousands of miles and walked hundreds of cemeteries in search of our ancestry. Although he made the transformation to electronic access and genealogy programs fairly easily, my fondest memories are when we were out walking cemeteries, visiting historical societies and meeting "new" cousins. I've always believed you won't know where you're going unless you know where you came from. Thanks to my dad, I know both.
