Bio

My name is David R. Ripley a.k.a. David Constantine. However, I prefer you call me "Rip". I was born and raised in Phillipsburg, NJ. I lived at five addresses in Phillipsburg over fifty-four years before moving to rural Pennsylvania. I attended Firth School, Phillipsburg Middle School, and Phillipsburg High School (Class of 1981). I graduated cum laude from Rider College in 1985 with a double major in English and History. I got a "D" in a marketing course I took for fun during my last semester which brought my GPA below 3.25, but since I was graduated from the Liberal Arts program, they conferred the cum laude title on me as my GPA was above 3.25 in that program. I am a historian at heart and often stroll cemeteries for historical context. I am writing a historical novel, "Firth of Life" based loosely on my family's nineteenth century past. I do not know when or if the book will ever be finished. The Carty, Johnson, Miers and Ripley clans that comprise my family roots are scattered about Easton, PA, as well as, Phillipsburg and Greenwich, NJ. As of May 2019, my two sisters Patricia Ann (Ripley) Penkala lives in Deep River, Connecticut and Alice Marie (Ripley) Alessio lives in Pohatcong, NJ.
