A little about me... I'm a 41y.o. divorcee with no children and have lived in Michigan most my life, minus a short stint in Tennessee, my favorite place on earth! Family has always been very important to me, but sadly I grew up only ever knowing my maternal family. My paternal family has no interest in being apart of my life, though not for lack of trying on my part.

I began occasionally researching my family on Ancestry 12+ years ago. In 2016 I submitted my DNA to them, wanting to learn about my paternal family, perhaps even connect with them but mostly hoping to locate half-siblings as I know I've at least two. Instead I found thousands upon thousands of cousins, over 84,000 as of July 2019! But January 2018 I begun receiving DNA matches that didn't make sense. Ultimately this led to me unearthing a maternal family secret. One I was never intended to know and could never have prepared myself for. Basically I went from knowing half my family to only one quarter at best, and who have left me questioning everything I thought I once knew.

Since May 2019 researching my family on Ancestry has literally turned into my full-time job, from the time I wake of a morning to the time I go to bed at nice. I frequently receive Ancestry Hints for F.A.G. Memorials so I find myself here quite often, either adding existing Memorials to my tree, suggesting edits, creating new Memorial, etc. But F.A.G. has also become a great source of information all thanks to the kindhearted members who take from their free time to contribute to the website. For that I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart. And if nobody has told you, I appreciate all that everyone one of you do and want you all to know your efforts do matter to someone out there. You all make me proud to be a part of this community!
