I was born and raised in the Belgian town of Wingene/Zwevezele.
Since my retirement I have been investing my spare time in surveying my fellow townspeople who emigrated to the USA and Canada between 1840 and 1940.
It ended up in a list of 680 family names attached to 3.500 persons, whose life stories are depicted in over 20.000 documents.
About 2.100 of them died in the USA. Thanks mostly to Find a Grave, 1.220 photos of their graves have been collected so far.
So, it seems there is still some work to be done.
