Son of John William Hatfield (b17.3.1921 Leicester who had married firstly 15.5.1942 Leicester, Margaret Taylor (b 2.8.1921 Howcleugh, Crawford and d 25.6.1947 from obstetric shock in Leicester General Hospital. She was buried at Elvanfoot, Lanarkshire (next to her mother Georgina Lorimer Taylor nee Fleming 1897 - 1944) with their son who died aged 5 hours in Leicester 23. 6. 1947- after her death, John William remarried Esme Helen Jones 2.7.1949 in Leicester and they 2 sons Glyn John b 10.7.1951 and Neil Andrew b 4.1.1957 Leicester.
John died 8.5.1984 in Leicester and was buried with his parents Oliver John Hatfield and Kate nee Brown at Belgrave cemetery, Birstall, Leicester.
