Find a Grave ID

Bio

Native of Staunton, Virginia.
I frequent Thornrose and love visiting cemeteries, as I'm sure we all do. I work with ancestry, and think it's important that every memorial is connected to their family. When I find memorials that aren't, chances are I'm going to research the hell out of them and try to learn their family tree.

I've also noticed during my ancestry research that there are an astounding number of unmarked graves and I think it's important that they too are recognized and added, it would certainly make it easier for family members and descendants to add a small headstone or plaque if they know where they are. I've noticed that sometimes however, names on death certificates differ from what is added to the tombstone, so if I've accidentally added a duplicate, let me know so I can delete the memorial or merge it if it has flowers or connections.

Something else I think is important is updating the grave pictures, so many haven't been for over ten years, and even if the grave looks the same, the cameras today will take a much better shot (for the most part).

I won't lie, I'm fairly shy. If I have a memorial that's a member of your own family, let me know! If you're obviously dedicated to our work here on findagrave, I don't mind transferring.

I may not have been here as long as most on here, but I think the work and dedication we put into this website is so important and I thank all of you for being passionate about keeping people from being forgotten and honoring their legacy, especially the findagrave veterans. What you do is so important not only for the departed but for the people who want to learn and honor their own families.
