Bio

I started family history as a hobby in 2014. I am also interested in social, local and Great War and WW2 history.
When people visit a cemetery to look for an ancestor, I would suggest please take a photo of an unrelated memorial too and add this to Find A Grave. You never know, even if you just add one memorial this might be one which really helps someone out with their family history.

If someone else has helped you, please pay it forward and add a random memorial in your own small corner of the world for the benefit of someone else.

St Paul, Whitley Bay - please note that most of the memorials which once existed have since been cleared according to a resource held at Newcastle local studies. I have added a number of inscriptions from this resource so that descendants might know what once existed for their ancestors.

Burial registers for North Tyneside Cemeteries are held on microfilm at North Shields Local Studies in North Shields library.

Also note that all memorials for Tynemouth General Cemetery have been cleared. I have added a few; just name and year of death from a resource at North Shields local studies. Full entries which can also include cause of death are also held at North Shields local studies.
You will see some photos on FAG but these have been likely added in error and are most likely to be found in Preston Cemetery, North Shields which is a different cemetery in North Shields.

Earsdon has two cemeteries St Alban's Church and Earsdon Cemetery. A good time to visit Earsdon is in September when Heritage Open Day Events are on. Earsdon is a most picturesque village which no doubt delights any visitor with its charm.
