Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, Juniata College, Huntingdon, PA, retiring in 2016. B.S., M.A., Ph.D. 1970, 1975, 1982, all in mathematics from The Pennsylvania State University. President of the Mount Union Area Schools Alumni Association. Pianist, organist, and tenor. Grew up in the Wayne E.U.B. Church (United Methodist since 1968). Joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in State College in 1971. Currently attend the Huntingdon Branch near Mill Creek, where I have been organist for nearly 40 years and branch clerk for many years. Have sung in choirs since elementary school including concerts with the Penn State Concert Choirs (opening Heinz Hall and once in Carnegie Hall), more than 35 years with the Juniata College Choral Union, several madrigal dinners, and seven two-week tours with the Juniata Alumni Choir--six to Europe and one to Australia. Have played for about 100 weddings. Genealogist since the 1970s and am probably the expert on the family of David Sunderland (1735?-1808/1809) of Sowerby, Yorkshire, England and Wayne Township, Mifflin County, PA. Have significant information on Jonathan Hamilton and German immigrant George Smith (1809-1878( who settled in Black Log Valley.
