Bio

My name is Stephanie C (Anderson) Grassi. This memorial is for my grandfather, Victor M Anderson. I don't remember him because I was only six months old when he died. My great-grandmother died the same day in the same hospital on a different floor. Because I was an infant, I was not allowed into the hospital. So my parents, Mr & Mrs Theodore V Anderson held me up so my grandfather could see me out of his window before he died. He looked out the window and smiled. He was happy to see his first grandchild before he died. I only know this information because my father told me about it several times. He has also passed away and I miss him terribly. I wish I had a picture of my grandfather but no one seems to have any pictures of him. I have heard that he was a very good and kind person. I believe that because my father was good and kind also. When he spoke of his dad, I could see a sort of wistfulness in his eyes. I could tell that he loved and missed him very much. I thought I was the only person in the military until I saw his gravestone. I was really surprised yet very proud when I saw it. I then remembered that my Uncle Marvin, my father's older brother, served in the armed forces also. I don't know which branch yet, but I'm searching to find him on the genealogy sites. I think my grandfather would be very proud of me for serving in the US Air Force!! I know I'm super proud of him. I'll keep looking for a photo of him and, when I find it, I will post it on this site. Rest in peace Granddad and know that you are very much loved!!
