I was born in San Diego County in 1951, and now live in a northern suburb of San Diego. My father was Sam Houk of New Castle, PA and my mother was Ellen Niemi, originally from Ironwood, MI. I am tracing Sam's family all the way back to Philip Houk, Sr. who was in the New Jersey Militia fighting the British. My mother's parents were both born in Finland, and I have lots of info about her mother's Lippo side of the family.
