Quick tips for edits and transfers:

Please, utilize the SUGGEST EDIT tab to request changes. Don't forget to click save at the very bottom when your done! This function creates an edit that is sent through findagrave to their edits screen under profile that they can easily approve/deny. You can see your requests as well under your profile, so if you accidentally sent something you can delete the request and start again.

Reminder, all requests utilizing the edit function have a 21 day grace period on findagrave through the volunteers taking care of the memorials, for them to do additional research if needed. It then gets auto approved by the system if the volunteer as not taken action by the end of the grace period.

Transfer Request? Easy Peasy. Just go to the memorial you are requesting SUGGEST EDITS, down to Contact Manager and you can create a message. As within the guidelines in Help you should include the memorial number you are requesting, your Contributor number and lastly your relation to the memorial you are seeking. The guidelines also state it's four generations up or down to you and immediate family, but I don't think it ever hurts to ask if you're outside of that. Most volunteers are happy to transfer to family, if they are not related to the memorial you are seeking, but know you'll meet a few that are sticklers for the guidelines. Always, send a copy to yourself when you create this message, if you do not get a response within 21 days seek help with your request through the Help section. If it's managed by Find a Grave (and not famous; only findagrave mange's those that have been labeled famous) it's even easier! Just click on SUGGEST EDITS and you will be asked if you would like to manage that memorial.

Requesting Photo- use this button to ask a contributor that volunteers to take photos at the cemeteries. If there is not a grave photo on the memorial, you can click that button and a message will be sent to those that volunteer. If you're requesting an updated photo, be sure to include that in the request, some may look and see there's already a photo available and not fulfill as quickly. Plot locations are great to have because as you know time is precious and some cemeteries can be huge!

Additional information on findagrave or questions may be found in the Help section at the very bottom of any page on findagrave. The help section can be a pretty great tool as we navigate through findagrave. Join Forums for more info.

Just know, it can be frustrating to see incorrect information on your loved ones memorials. It's ok! It's all fixable! We are only as great as the information provided or the information we seek. Take care and thanks! I appreciate all the work each and every volunteer does. I've found so much wonderful information! Know, your work is appreciated at what ever level you chose to contribute.
