Bio

Hello, my name is John David Jeske. As a child I grew up listening to my grandmother Irene Schoenfeld Jeske tell stories of my ancestors from the Jeske branch of the tree. Many were born in the "old country"of Prussia, Germany. They settled in the areas between Leopolis and Gresham in Shawano county Wisconsin. I had spent a lot of time taking care of the graves of my ancestors at the Elias Cemetery. My 2xgreatgrandfather Wilhelm F Jeske donated the land for that church and cemetery. His farm is just a stone's throw to the east of them. I grew up on a farm 4 miles to the east the church. Family and local history of that area has always been a huge interest of mine.
