Bio

Kia ora, I'm a female amateur genealogist born and living in Southland, New Zealand. I am building an extensive family tree on Ancestry and appreciate the work everyone is doing at Find A Grave.

I am very willing to work with you to get the most accurate and full information available for the public through the FAG website (and Ancestry.)

If you see inaccurate information that I have provided, please let me know and I will be happy to correct it. Thank you.

My profile photo is the headstone of my ancestors Arthur and Martha McArthur (#155912376 and #155912377). They inspired my love of genealogy because my schoolmates needed a headstone photo to believe their lovely names were real. :D

My family tree includes many countries, the main ones being New Zealand, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Australia, Canada, and the USA.

If you need help with local NZ knowledge, I can help with Southland, Otago, Canterbury (in the South Island), and the Wellington and Hawkes Bay regions in the lower North Island. I can also help with Stewart Island, which is part of Southland.

NB: Transfers and edit suggestions:

Many of the FAG memorials I make edit suggestions for are family members of mine, and sometimes they can be very distant, eg second or third cousins and in-laws. As such, I may ask you to transfer them to me, if I live closer to the cemetery, or have information to add that isn't readily available online. When a FAG member who is a closer relative of the person comes forward, then I will happily transfer the memorial on request.

In NZ, online personal information about people born after 1921 can be very hard to find. So, in some cases it is almost impossible to send you a link verifying the information. I am happy to work with you to find the best sources - please ask to discuss it rather than decline the suggestion without letting me know why.

Thanks again and happy (information) hunting.
