Bio

I am originally from Germany. Finding grave markers is especially important to me since we do not keep our graves forever. These Webpages will help you understand what I mean by that.
How To Germany - Funerals in Germany
ROWDY IN GERMANY: German Cemeteries
The German Way of Death and Funerals | The German Way & More (german-way.com)
I've been researching my family tree since abt. 1995 when my husband's uncle asked me to research my family tree and I laughed in his face telling him "It will not go very far". That was about 30.900 individuals and 11.800 marriages ago. This is my husbands and my combined family tree – so far.
I am a stickler for accuracy and documentation. No documentation = does not exist (!)
Accuracy is also very important, since it affects everything & everyone in your family tree (!)
Over the years I have learned a lot from German researchers which I consulted on some of my searches.
For Germany the research is made easier by the Familienbücher (Heritage books) and many churches (parishes) are starting to put their scanned church books on-line.
Constructive criticism is always welcome; If you find a mistake, please let me know so I can make the necessary corrections.
Feel free to use my pictures in the proper context and source citation.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN!
I went searching for an ancestor, I cannot find him still.
He moved around from place to place and didn't leave a will.
He married were a courthouse burned, he mended all his fences.
He avoided any man who came to take the U.S. Census.

He always kept his luggage packed, this man who had no fame.
And every 20 years or so, this rascal changed his name.
His parents came from Europe, they should be on some list.
Of passengers to the USA, but somehow, they got missed.

And no one else in this world is searching for this man.
So, I'm playing "Gene-Solitaire", to find him if I can.
I'm told he's buried in a plot; with tombstone he was blessed.
But the weather took the engraving, and vandals took the rest.

He died before the county clerks decided to keep records.
No family Bible has emerged, in spite of all my efforts.
To top it off, this ancestor, who's caused me so many groans.
Just to give me one more pain, betrothed a girl named JONES.
