Bio

Hello, I am a former business owner who recently sold my company. These days, I am pursuing my passion for teaching and writing about history. One of my favorite subjects is the 82-acre Wilkes Street Cemetery Complex in Alexandria, Virginia, where over 35,000 people are buried.

I am also privileged to manage the Presbyterian Cemetery and Columbarium located in the complex. This cemetery is owned by the Old Presbyterian Meeting House, where I was baptized, raised, and have worshipped since 1963. The cemetery has been active since the early 19th century and still holds funerals regularly.

In addition, I am a member of the Board of Directors of Alexandria's Lee-Fendall House Museum and Garden and the Alexandria Historical Society. I am also a member of The Northern Virginia Cemetery Consortium, an organization dedicated to preserving historic cemeteries in the region. For stories about those buried in Alexandria's cemeteries visit my website https://gravestonestories.com/.
