Bio

I have been the Secretary/Treasurer of Cooperstown (ND) Cemetery since 2007 and continue to make sure cemetery records are as correct and up-to-date as they can be. I've discovered many early residents who were influential in the development of Cooperstown and Griggs County are buried in Cooperstown Cemetery.

I'm not originally from the area; I moved to Binford, ND for a teaching job in 1982, eventually met my husband, and have lived in Cooperstown since 1987.

I've always enjoyed history, whether it be that of my own family or the area I live in or that of other families or other places around the world.

A couple of years ago, I read through the city and county history books, written for their respective centennial celebrations. I did so because while I had turned to these two books for references on occasion, I hadn't read either one from beginning to end.

I'm glad I did because I learned a lot about the area in which I live and also discovered many family "connections" because of who married whom and whose siblings and cousins and children married into different families. Of course, these connections are in the range of 13 to 20 or more degrees of separation and mean absolutely nothing whatsoever, but it sure is fun to work through!

Feel free to "borrow" any pictures I have added on sites I manage.
