Find a Grave ID

Bio

I've enjoyed the features of Find A Grave, and one of my new passions is connecting relatives that are simply stand-alone grave memorials on the site. That exercise has also helped me grow my family tree with additional information. I also find that using ancestry.com helps fill in missing details on the Find A Grave memorials.

It's amazing how much more one can learn from reviewing known burial information, and the pictures are typically very helpful. Especially when they also include wide angle shots that help determine the location in the cemetery, etc.

After learning how helpful GPS latitude and longitude coordinates can be, I've been able to add map data to several memorials, which of course is extremely helpful when trying to locate unfamiliar graves in cemeteries. This is especially helpful when cemetery offices are closed, or not frequently staffed.
