Bio
I am the youngest daughter of Lawrence H. Smart & Juanita Mae Jeffries. I was born in Winchester, KS, 19 years after my brother, Lawrence Jr., and 14 years after my sister, Waconia Sue. I am pretty confident that I was not planned. I am 43 years old and live in Lawrence, KS, with my fiancé, daughter, and two cats.
My fiancé and I just started our own business: Smart Home Inspections LLC. I am really excited to have a business with the Smart name in it again. My father and then my brother owned Smart Concrete Construction for over 50 years.
I am also a licensed Life & Health Insurance Producer and am working on my Master’s Degree in I/O (Industrial / Organizational) Psychology at the University of Kansas.
I am brand new at genealogical research: however I am having so much fun learning about my family history.
We are planning a vacation this summer to Chincoteague Island, VA, and I am excited to have our picture taken in front of the lighthouse on Assateague Island. My sister and her fiancé went a few years ago and got hers so now it’s my turn. I think it is a family tradition on my mother’s side.
I enjoy drawing, reading, yoga, and spending lots of time with my family. My daughter is 8 and hasn’t yet realized how “uncool” and “embarrassing” I am yet. Lol.
